Breaking the silence around psychological injury, policing culture, and the systems meant to protect those who serve.

A voice forged through lived experience.
A platform built for change.
The story behind the voice
I’m Lana Boland, a Canadian police officer, author, and advocate for systemic change in policing and first responder mental health.
What began as private journaling through one of the hardest periods of my life became AFTERSHOT — and a public commitment to speak about trauma, leadership accountability, and meaningful reform.
My work centres the human side of service: the cost of silence and the possibility of rebuilding stronger systems for the people who protect our communities.
